Cruising the Arthur River is a truly Tasmanian experience, particularly aboard the steel-hulled MV George Robinson – a vintage beauty fitted out with local timbers and brass. It’s easy to be spellbound by the serenity of the ancient Tarkine wilderness. Time passes quickly as you glide past the dense riverbanks laden with myrtle, blackwood and sassafras. Century old Huon Pines can be spotted too. Don’t forget to look up for sea eagles and down for platypus.
